As we look ahead to early 2026, we expect investment markets to remain choppy as investors navigate the transition from a period of elevated interest rates and concentrated growth (in AI) toward value-based positions that have been ignored. While economic growth has proven resilient, equity valuations—particularly in select growth and technology segments—leave less margin for error.
Markets are likely to remain sensitive to economic data, central bank communication, and geopolitical developments, which may result in periods of heightened volatility rather than a smooth, linear advance.
In this environment, we are emphasizing value-oriented investments where fundamentals, cash flow durability, and reasonable valuations provide a stronger foundation for long-term returns. Historically, periods following extended growth leadership often see broader market participation, with value and income-producing assets playing a more meaningful role. Companies with solid balance sheets, consistent earnings, and disciplined capital allocation can help offset valuation risk and provide greater stability if market leadership continues to rotate.
We also believe gold may continue to perform well as part of a diversified portfolio. Ongoing fiscal pressures, geopolitical uncertainty, and the potential for declining real interest rates support gold’s role as both a diversifier and a hedge against macroeconomic risk. While gold prices can be volatile in the short term, its longer-term fundamentals remain constructive within a balanced allocation.
Finally, we expect short-term savings and money market rates to gradually move lower as monetary policy evolves. While cash has been attractive over the past several years, declining yields may reduce its effectiveness as a long-term strategy, reinforcing the importance of thoughtfully allocating excess cash in a manner aligned with your broader financial plan and risk tolerance. As always, we remain focused on prudent diversification, disciplined rebalancing, and positioning portfolios to navigate uncertainty while staying aligned with your long-term objectives.

Cheers, Brian
